Roger is an active participant in the movement to continue traditional sign painting and pinstriping and regularly attends ” Letterheads ” events in Australia and abroad where signwriters gather to share skills, tell stories and offer advice to the younger generations. In addition to these events, Roger has demonstrated at sign and car shows, and has spoken about his experience in the industry to an audience of Graphic Designers and Type enthusiasts at the first showing of the Sign Painters documentary in Australia. Retroline specialises in hand painted signs, pinstriping and artwork in the Sydney and Southern Highlands regions of NSW. Our passion for the traditional methods of sign painting offers a creative and dynamic alternative to the vast amount of modern sign technology being used today.
Retroline was started in 2012 by Roger Warsop to focus on offering the best quality signage to customers by continuing the tradition of hand painted signs and pinstriping. Roger is a second generation trade qualified signwriter of 24 years experience who has worked for both large and small companies including The Grounds of Alexandria, Yakusan Brand Experience Group (Little Creatures Beer, Kraken Rum, St Halletts Wine, Hendrick’s Gin), BMF design studios, Stones Pattiserie, Holy Cow design studios, Tiliqua Press and was recently contracted to work on location at Disneyland in Shanghai, China.
In addition to providing a signwriting and pinstriping service, Roger’s passion in keeping the traditional methods continuing has led him to teaching. Roger has taught numerous classes in the basics of hand lettering at The Distillery Letterpress in Crown Street, Darlinghurst.
